While cleaning a fresh-water aquarium, students place the aquarium plants in a container of distilled water.?

The plants will have water gushing into them. The cells in the plants are hypertonic to the outside water, meaning that they have a higher concentration of solute. The cells will start to bulge and possible explode. The plant cells will be "turgid."
